The internet is a global tool, and as such is used by people of varying abilities. From web savvy professionals to people whose first visit to a website may be yours. From people with 20/20 vision to those with disabilities that range from minor to completely blind.
Add to this dyslexia, old or badly set up hardware and you have a potential minefield of trying to develop a site that can work and be usable by everyone.
There are ways of getting around almost any problem; however these can make a site look outdated and basic. So what is the solution?
We develop our sites for an audience, and that depends on the site and its contents. Our sites are generally based on CSS technology (don’t worry about the mechanics, it means they are readable by screen readers if need be) they have labels on all the major images, and can be resized for any size screen (within reason) – in fact try this. Press “CTRL” and “-“ a few times and watch this site shrink, then “ctrl” and “+” and watch it grow , importantly it does not lose its shape, so people with vision problems can enlarge things and still see what is going on.
The level of accessibility does depend on the project, but rest assured i3media will work to achieve whatever level you need.
Are you used to sweat? Do you work well in a team as well as on your own initiative?
