The Challenge

Barnardo’s sought a digital platform to support their annual Kidsmas campaign, aimed at inspiring donations through an engaging and interactive experience. With a tight six-week delivery deadline, the platform needed to combine emotional storytelling with gamification to encourage social sharing and boost donations. Additionally, the campaign had to handle high traffic and deliver key customisation milestones to keep supporters engaged throughout the festive season.

The Solution

We worked with Barnardo’s to design and deliver a gamified fundraising platform tailored to the Kidsmas campaign’s objectives. The platform incorporated gamification elements to encourage ongoing interaction and sharing. Supporters could track their fundraising progress through custom milestones, unlocking festive rewards such as digital badges and personalised messages. These achievements were designed to inspire social sharing, amplifying the campaign’s reach and fostering a sense of community among supporters.

Frictionless Experience

To capture the heart of the Kidsmas campaign, we developed an emotive, visually engaging design. Storytelling elements guided users through the impact of their contributions, making the cause relatable and inspiring action. A streamlined donation process, optimised for all devices, ensured a frictionless experience, while integrated social sharing tools allowed supporters to easily spread the word.

Despite the tight timeline, we launched the campaign successfully within six weeks. Having piloted and refined the Kidsmas platform three years in a row, we consistently delivered enhanced features and functionality, keeping the campaign fresh and engaging each year.

The Results
