How we helped family-owned sweet centre Bombay Deli become a high-street dining destination.
The Challenge
Bombay Deli had been a valued client for the past five years. They approached us to support a major milestone in their journey. They aimed to grow beyond their roots as a family-owned sweet shop into a boutique restaurant. They wanted to do this by expanding from Bombay Sweets to Bombay Delicatessen, offering dining experiences.
The challenge was to deliver a website and brand strategy that reflected their evolution. One that supported multiple locations and handled both eCommerce and restaurant bookings seamlessly. And it had to do all this while preserving their long and rich heritage.
The Solution
To support Bombay Deli’s growth, we developed a third generation of their website. This was designed from scratch to meet their expanding needs and a new brand identity.
That new identity was where we began. We crafted new imagery and comprehensive brand guidelines. Then we implemented a strategy to position Bombay Deli as a high-street dining destination. The new website was built on a WordPress Multi-Site setup. This allowed each location to have a unique presence while staying consistent with the overarching brand.
We didn't forget the client's iconic sweet offerings. So we created an interactive Indian sweet box builder. This enabled customers to personalise their selections online. The eCommerce system was enhanced with custom DPD delivery and collection options. This ensured orders could be managed efficiently.
To support their expansion into dining, we integrated SevenRooms into the website. This system allows customers to book tables easily and to begin their unique Bombay Deli dining experience.
Results
The new website and refreshed brand have positioned Bombay Deli as a premier boutique restaurant. And it did this while staying true to their origins and hard-won identity. Customers now enjoy a seamless experience customising sweet boxes or booking dining experiences.
